Complaint Trends

When considering a 2020 Jeep Wrangler, it’s important to research the other model years as well. This helps provide a broader perspective on a car model’s complaint history and potential issues.

Here are a few reasons why:
Understanding the car’s evolution: Car models can undergo significant changes from year to year, both in terms of design and functionality. This knowledge can help you better appreciate the car’s strengths and weaknesses and determine whether the specific year you are considering is the best buy.

Identifying recurring issues: Some car models have recurring issues that may not be apparent in a specific year. By researching the other model years, you can identify any recurring issues that the car may have and determine whether they have been resolved in the specific year you are considering. This knowledge can help you make an informed decision and avoid potential costly repairs down the line.

Overall, researching other Jeep Wrangler years will help identify the model year with the lowest amount of high severity complaints, further ensuring a better car buying decision.

Timeline of Complaints

The timeline of complaints identifies how many problems owners reported with the 2020 Jeep Wrangler while covered under the Bumper-to-Bumper and Powertrain warranties.

Seeing how many complaints have been filed for a car while it is still under warranty can be beneficial in several ways:

  • Indicates reliability: If a vehicle has a high volume of high severity complaints filed while still under warranty, it may indicate that the car is not reliable. This information can be valuable for a car shopper who is looking for a car that will be dependable and require minimal repairs.
  • Helps identify potential issues: By researching the complaints filed for a particular model, a car shopper can get an idea of the common issues that owners face with the vehicle.
  • Can influence warranty coverage negotiations: If you have a 2020 Jeep Wrangler and your warranty claim for expensive repairs is rejected, having a record of similar complaints can increase your chances of getting the defect covered under warranty. In other words, documenting common issues with your vehicle could help you negotiate better warranty coverage.

I was driving home with my 3 kids in the car. Age 13,10,2 We were almost home and my daughter shouted from the back seat… “ there’s a fire .. there’s a fire” my self and my 13 year old son proceeded to look outside the car for a fire. We both kept saying where? My daughter then said “ right there look up” we both looked and the passenger side visor was in flames where it connects to the roof of the jeep. My son tried to blow it out but it sparked up 2 more times before he held the visor up before the fire went out completely. This was absolutely terrifying. I’m so worried my car is going to catch on fire while I am sleeping tonight. Please help

Jeep caught fire by passenger visor

  • NHTSA ID Number: 11502775
  • Incident Date: January 20, 2023

I was driving my 2020 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with 34,950 miles on it on the night of 12/13/2022 along I 89 in New Hampshire at a steady 65mph in 6th gear in the far-left lane. Suddenly the tachometer started soaring towards the redline. Before it hit redline, there was an explosion underneath the Jeep. As I looked in the mirror to get to the side of the road, I saw two chunks of glowing hot metal exiting the underside. There were no warning lights or other indication of what was about to happen. I got it safely to the breakdown lane. Someone called in a small brush fire because a fire truck showed up, then a couple of State Police Troopers showed up and helped call a tow truck. It cost $350 for the tow to the nearest dealership and the Uber home. At the dealership I could see a huge crack in the transmission case. From the repair order included, there was damage to the clutch, transmission, starter, flywheel, electrical harness and main seal. I was told the faulty parts were returned to Jeep for inspection. There was a recall on the clutch pressure plate (21V-028) and the "repair" had been completed on my vehicle. The "repair" did not work and people are going to get hurt. Although no one was injured this time, this could have ended very badly if the hot metal shrapnel cut a tire or hit a car behind me. From my little bit of research, this failure is becoming quite common and many people are driving a ticking time bomb.

After stopping my Jeep on September 27th smoke was coming out of the engine immediately. There had been no warning lights on the dash or any smells from the engine. I got out and tried to open the hood and the engine was already fully engulfed in fire. Our Jeep had never had any engine trouble or been into the dealership except to have the oil changed. Upon doing my own investigation I have seen many of these fires. Something is definitely wrong with this engine. I could have lost my life.

The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 75-80 MPH, the temperature gauge indicated “HOT” indicating that the engine was overheating. The contact pulled over to the emergency lane and looked up possible causes for the failure in the Owner’s Manual. The Owners Manuel instructed the contact to turn off the vehicle and wind the windows down which she performed. The Owner’s manual also suggested waiting for 15 minutes before restarting the vehicle. The contact performed the functions as instructed and started the vehicle and proceeded to drive however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that there was smoke coming from the engine and the vehicle lost all of the electronic functions. The brake and steering were the only functions that the contact was able to control. The contact engaged the hazard light and pulled over. The contact lifted the hood, rolled the windows down, and waited for the vehicle to cool down. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where it was diagnosed. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed about a refund on towing. The approximate failure mileage was 30,791.

Hi, my name is [XXX] and I have a 2020 Jeep Wrangler unlimited, I bought this car on July of 2021 and I started to have problems on October of 2022 the car was shaking but it wasn’t that bad, but on Nov of 2022 I was traveling from Phoenix to Nogales AZ driving at approximately 75m/h and the car started to shake really bad I almost lost control of the car it felt like the car was gonna fall apart, I had my daughter with me she’s traumatized she has Down syndrome she doesn’t like getting in the car no more and I don’t blame her, so once I was back to Phoenix I went to the Jeep dealership and they told me it was a problem with the steering wheel and that they have to order the part, I waited close to 3 months and they didn’t have the part, on Feb 20 2023 I had a car accident caused by the death wobble, I was driving on the freeway at approximately 60m/h and on a little bump the car started to wobble really bad that I lost control of it and hit the median cable barriers and damaged the front of the car I got really traumatized and got a ticket that day, I tried to talk with the Jeep company and they said that the car wasn’t cover by the warranty no more. I missed work that day and my car for like 2 months until it was completely fixed, this is a very danger situation people can loose their life with this problem. On January 2, 2023, at about 4:00 PM I encountered the ‘Death Wobble’ while driving in my 2020 Jeep Wrangler (2-door) VIN: [XXX], purchased from Dave Smith Motors, Kellogg, ID on about 7/17/2020. I was driving North on I-15 about 10 miles South of Nephi, UT. I was traveling in the left lane at Freeway speeds (75-80 mph) when the front of the vehicle commenced to shake violently. My first thought was that both front tires had blown, although I did not observe any obstacles on the wet driving lanes. My second thought was, how do I get out of these mess without causing a major accident on that very busy stretch of Freeway holiday traffic? I, of course, braked and pulled to the left in an attempt to avoid getting rear-ended and immediately encountered snow and ice on the left shoulder and then on the ground adjacent to the Freeway. I managed to get off the Freeway, but continued to fishtail, almost losing control on the snow and ice. Eventually the vehicle ended up in a sideways slide perpendicular to the Freeway with the front of the vehicle aimed at the Freeway and heavy TRAFFIC! At that point I had no control over the vehicle as it continued to slide sideways headed for a huge drainage ditch. Luckily, we stopped before the precipice. I scrambled out of the vehicle as soon as it stopped sliding to see what had happened to the front end of the Jeep. There was no obvious damage, the tires were not flat, and I couldn’t figure out what had happened. I have now received a NOTICE OF PROPOSED CLASS SETTLEMNT, that upon further research informs me that 2020 Jeep Wranglers have a manufacture defect that causes the ‘Death Wobble’ in precisely the conditions that existed with me. “…2020 Jeep Wranglers …have a front suspension steering damper defect that causes the steering wheel and front suspension of the vehicle to shake after contact with a bumpy road surface at highway speed.” I was not aware of the Manufacturer's defect. The JEEP is unsafe!! INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I was driving my vehicle on the expressway and a dash light with an “A” and a circle came on. My car began to slow down on its own and would not allow me to accelerate. I managed to coast off the expressway to an exit. I immediately smelled gas and my eyes began to burn. I tried to restart my car but it was sputtering. I checked under the hood and the car smelled like strong gas. After this my eyes were burning as if someone sprayed pepper spray in them. I had get assistance to get a tow. I went to a nearby urgent care to get my eyes checked out because after all of this they were blood shot red….I see that some 2020 2.0L Jeeps have a fuel line recall but my recall isn’t showing up. This vehicle should definitely have a recall. I also have issues with my radio saying “overheating” then the volume goes out and the radio shuts off.

Vehicle started to get extreme smell of gas fumes, interior and exterior, to the point it would make you nauseous. My vehicle was taken to a dealer where the tech noticed that a fuel pump was leaking and a fuel line behind the engine had a small hole in it and was leaking on the top and was unlikely debris hit it, to get at the line the whole motor has to get dropped. After reading the description of the fuel line/pump issues with the 2020 2.0 L, this seems that it would be related and part of the effected parts.

Randomly the check engine light will appear and the dash will display multiple messages about service needed for traction control, stability control, auto start stop disabled, service cruise control etc. Then while driving you will lose power steering and this almost caused my daughter to wreck while trying to finish a turn. Additionally when the messages appear the vehicle will not have the ability to shift so you can not reverse and once it shut off in the middle of the highway blocking traffic and almost caused multiple accidents. The dealership has replaced the battery sensor and said it was fixed. I was told to replace the primary and secondary battery to ensure it was not a battery problem and I did, however the issue still remains. Looked online for others with this issue and there are many with the exact problem. The Jeep will report the transmission temperature and oil temperature incorrectly with the gauge maxed out even if it has sat overnight. Additionally it also says to service the transmission.

I have had to replace 2 steering dampers in my 2020 Jeep Wrangler that has only 24,000 miles. Whenever the vehicle reaches speeds over 50 mph the steering becomes very loose, needing to constantly steer left and right. If there is any change to the road surface such as a bridge, uneven pavement or bump in road, vehicle loses control in steering making the need for you to come to a stop to regain control.

The driver's side sun visor has broken at the attachment point to the frame of the vehicle, causing it to spontaneously swing out of place and obstructing the view of the roadway. There was no excessive force applied to this part, and there are numerous reports of this online from hundreds of other vehicle owners. Obstruction of the driver's view of the road could lead to a fatal accident, especially given that the obstruction can be sudden and without warning. The component has not been inspected since the defect occurred. There are no relevant warning lamps, or messages.

When driving on the interstate and going highway speeds, my Jeep will begin to wobble profusely and I must immediately get off the road as fast as possible to regain control. "Death wobble". All original factory parts and tires on the vehicle and this happens every time that I get on the highway and go over 55 miles per hour and hit any road defect, whether it be a bump or bridge gap. I have had the alignment checked and it does not help the problem at all. No warning lights or any type of notification other than the steering wheel beginning to shake and lose control of the front steering.

my jeeps (2020 4door wrangler unlimited sport JL) VIN does not come back to any recalls on the NHTSA but it has the old aluminum steering gear part# (P68250506AE) and needs to be replaced by the new part# (68507569AA) and a EHPS software eopdate per TSB 08-003-21 REV. A. some dealers are not honoring the TSB if the VIN does not come back to a recall. this issues causes unsafe steering wander and lead pull left to right. I think the dealers should be notified that there are still jeeps with the aluminum steering gear that does not show up on recalls.

2020 Jeep Rubicon - wife was driving 60 mph on highway, went over a small bump and the steering wheel began shaking violently causing her to lose control. She was able to gain control and get to the side of the road, almost getting hit by several vehicles. She turned the Jeep off and restarted. She began traveling again, going slower this time, and it didn't happen again for about 30 minutes. She again went over a small bump (the dividers in the road where it switches to a bridge) and it began to shake bad again. I read online that this is a known problem. This is not safe. She could have been hit, or she could have hit someone. She is so terrified, she will no longer drive the vehicle.

Bubble paint appeared on all the car doors including the truck door as well as the engine door and the windshield frame driver corner. I went to south bank dealer in Ottawa and the took pictures many time and they say approved and never call. And then they say they will fix the spots only which is so weird to fix rusted bubbled paint in a new car. They should change all the doors as the metal is already damaged by rust. These cars are expensive and quality and guarantees should be provided for such vehicles. The factory should recall my car for full repaint or change color if needed on new doors and the whole car. You can go on Google and just type bubble paint on Jeep and you will see these cars are treated in the market. The company treated this car like garbage because of the paint reputation on a famous American car. I first reported to the dealer on November 2022 and then Jan or Feb 2023 ( don’t remember) My phone number is 1613-262-6661

After having the steering damper replaced for the death wobble on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler, a week later I was driving my jeep down the road and the vehicle stalled out on me. The auto start/stop light turned on and the car stalled out in the middle of a busy roadway in drive and would not go into park. After getting it into park, several lights turned on my dash, including “service power steering” and “service electronic stability control. My shifter lights all began flashing at once and my windshield wipers began to go while they were turned off. The vehicle would also not go into N and after finally getting it into neutral, we had to hold the emergency neutral pull while steering across 4 lanes of a busy roadway. This is now the second major safety issue (1st is death wobble) i’ve had with my jeep and no recalls have been issued. My car is at 42k miles and a lease, these cars should not be having these issues so early! It has now been at Jeep for a week and they have yet to look at the vehicle and keep giving me the run down of “we haven’t been able to look at your vehicle but it doesn’t look good” Jeeps seem to have major safety issues lately.

I just purchased my 4th Wrangler last month from a dealership - a 2020 Certified Pre-Owned Unlimited Sport Willys 2.0L with Automatic transmission. Within the first days, I noticed odor of fuel or exhaust that would be more obvious some times than others, and not constantly strong or apparent. At first I thought maybe it was from being in garage at dealer and something on a mat, but then it continued and was more apparent if I had the windows closed and the heat on. Called the dealer two weeks ago and got an appointment to have it checked this past Friday. First I was told I’m probably not used to it if it’s my first “turbo” (which made no sense), then they came back to tell me it’s probably dirty air filters (which they should’ve checked/changed when they inspected it before selling it because it was at 31,200mi). Then they decided to take it for a ride and, lo and behold, they smelled what I have been smelling. They put it back on the lift to look again. Diagnosis: Fuel leak from the connector to the high pressure fuel line. I see there were some JLs with 2.0L manufactured the same year recalled for this, but they insisted mine wasn’t. Search online confirms it’s not included in the recall. I had no luck getting anywhere when I called Jeep customer service either. The dealer wants to charge me my extended warranty deductible when I haven’t even made my first payment on it yet. (According to vehicle records, 3 years for manufacturer warranty was up Nov 2022, and it has less than 32,500mi.) They insisted they keep it while waiting for the part for repair because it’s unsafe to drive, and put me in a rental (which they told me they didn’t have available when I asked for the appointment). I think this is clearly a safety issue consistent with other recalls for this model and should be repaired at no cost to me. Perhaps the initial recall didn’t include all the vehicles it should have.

I was driving on highway Jan 2023 at about 75-80 mph and hit a small road imperfection in the middle lane. The Jeep started shaking uncontrollably. I had to fight to keep the car steady and thought I had blown out a tire. I was able to pull to breakdown lane and slow down and it gradually stopped shaking. The violent shaking and noise scared both me and my daughter who was a passenger. Weeks later I got a notice of a class-action lawsuit regarding this issue and the steering damper. I brought it in for service and they fixed it. However, it was NOT covered by Chrysler so I am stuck with the deductible. Disappointed in this as it was an obvious, known problem that I would consider a safety issue. A quick search of it reveals many complaints, a lawsuit, etc and yet no recourse for me. Do better Chrysler/Jeep

I just purchased the car on Jan 31, 2022 from the jeep dealership (46,000 miles). When driving, it has very loose steering. I can move the wheel left and right and the car stays straight. I was told by the dealer that that was normal. At highway speeds, it is very difficult to maintain a straight direction and I am constantly adjusting the wheel. When holding the wheel center, it drifts left or right. If I hit a bump the car moves. At times if feels like I don't have control of the vehicle. This is not safe to operate on the highway.

My engine cut off without warning at a very busy intersection. I was stuck in busy traffic. I could not get it restarted or out of park. (I am a resident of Altavista, Va. 24517 This incident occurred in South Boston, Va.,approx. 40-45 miles from where I live.) A South Boston Policeman stopped and a fire dept. employee offered their assistance (and were very helpful). They were almost hit by cars several times from each side. I knew I had to get the vehicle out of the middle of the street, so I asked the policeman to call a local garage to send a rollback (tow truck) to get it out of the street and the dangerous traffic. The local garage was equipped with a machine that showed what was wrong, The final settings had to be made by a Jeep dealer. The garage took it to a Jeep dealer in Henderson, NC. (approx. 44 miles from South Boston, Va). Personal in the service department informed us said that they had know this to happen before. The Jeep has a primary and secondary battery (the stop and go system). I understand that if the primary battery goes dead without warning, the secondary battery tries to pick up the entire electrical load and the smaller battery cannot handle it and it destroys the fuse block. Both batteries and the fuse block had to be replaced. I was without a car for approx. two weeks, and a great deal of expense ($1,391.64). I am now wondering if and when it will happen again.

I was towed to a gas station in Hempstead I believe then had to pay to town home (I forgot to call keep roadside as my sod was not working ) It is now sitting in ny in my moms driveway -I am due to return the leased card in march so I am still paying for an inoperable car I flew to FL which is where I now live and needed a car so went to Schumaker jeep in Delray I have a new jeep that appears to have failed testing (I found a piece of paper in console (vin for this new car is [XXX]) And the radio console screen and interior lights dim out of nowhere or go completely black even though radio/etc on. I’ve reported to dealers here in FL -to the Chrysler capital corporate and keep corporate phones-have 2 case numbers with no follow up. Went to a keep dealer to have diagnostic testing but looks like that didn’t really happen as I wasn’t given a sheet showing the completed testing. I’m not sure how to resolve my issues and I’m worried I’m again in an unsafe car which seems to be missing safety protections (side view mirror blind spot alerts) my 2020 keep had and def seems to have some electrical issues or has failed battery charging, I don’t know how to get help for either car and am worried I’m driving an unsafe car. Today is the lost current incident. When I was safe to be in a stopping point I told a family member about it. This family member told me that this is a big issue that should have a recall.

Driving on highway, 80 miles an hour in Southern Utah, three times I hit a normal bridge / road seam and the Jeep "Death Wobble" occurred. This is a well known thing amongst Jeep owners, but since I was a new owner I had no idea what was going on. After slowing down the wobble stopped. I thought I was going to crash. I am making an appointment with my local Jeep dealer to have it looked at.

We are experiencing the "jeep death wobble" intermittently, usually at speeds 60-70 mph only happens when hitting a bump, it shakes steering wheel violently until finally slowing down to 50-55 mph. Our jeep is all stock, with standard street tires and Never been off-road. Our Jeep has 28,000 miles and is still under warranty, although warranty ending March 2023. We have had it to dealership two times already, they replaced the steering stabilizer with a BDI brand after market stabilizer (experienced death wobble on way home from dealership after this was replaced) they also checked front end alignment which had no issues. They now want to try and change tires, which through my own research do not think this will help. I am now reaching out to another local Jeep Dealership to see if they will check it out.

Dealership will be replacing the stabilizer, but many Jeep owners are telling me that this is not a fix and more of a band aid for the problem. I am seeing this same complaint over and again in Jeep Facebook groups. The bought this vehicle brand new and do not feel safe. This is extremely concerning on the freeway as well. This happens at around 45 mph 60mph and higher, I have to slow down to a complete stop for it to stop.

Drivers side sun visor fell from hinge and is hanging by electrical cords. Sun visor spontaneously and repetitively smacks driver every time it drops back out of mount. Resulting in an obstruction of drivers field of view when operating vehicle. Tried to make a service appointment with several local dealerships but all advised of this issue not being a recall therefore not knowing of such problem. There are several incidents documented online in forums by other owners of the same sun visor equipment malfunctioning but no address of such issue by manufacturer. Dealerships seem to handle this issue on a case by case basis. However, sometimes the dealerships are replacing the faulty sun visor with the same faulty sun visor assembly and components - recycling the issue again as a quick fix.

Shifter cables on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler have fallen off FIVE times leaving me unable to shift the car or drive it and it is necessary to pull over or coast over to the side of the road wherever I may be. The inability to shift is accompanied by a terrible burning smell. The dealership has attempted to repair it by putting the cables back on and by replacing the cables with new cables to no avail, the problem continues to occur. My safety and the safety of others is put at risk because the car is not able to function properly and maintain speed. Without warning this can occur and cause an accident on the road or highway. I have filed a Lemon Law complaint with the Jeep manufacturer. The problem has occurred FIVE times 3/29/22, 9/20/22, 10/14/22, 10/17/22, 11/22/22. All five times were without warning.

The Jeep steering system allows it to wander down the road with occasional slight lock. On the highway it will move to the left and right and you need to continuously correct its path. I had been driving my car off and on throughout the day without incidence. I stopped by the the grocery store and went in for a very short amount of time. I came out and cranked my car, it cranked as normal. I drove out of the parking lot into traffic and the car just started going haywire then shut off. Lights were flashing inside the car, the dash lights kept coming on and off, the wipers were moving even though they had not been on previously. I turned on my hazard lights and they would only illuminate in the front of the vehicle, but also intermittently. I had no means of warning other drivers, this occurred after dark. The car would not go into neutral so it could be pushed from the roadway. There were no warning lights to let me know anything was wrong. I had no indicators prior to this occurrence and was left completely stranded in traffic in the dark. I was told by the auto shop it was towed to that the issue was the auxiliary battery. This battery was causing a drain on the main battery and therefore shut down.

My driver's side sun visor does not stay in place while driving and pops out of its holder, even if the visor is folded up out of the way and not being used. When the visor pops out of place, it hangs by the wires for visor mirror lighting. I purchased my vehicle new Feb 2020, and my vehicle currently only has about 10,500 miles. The visor began popping out of place around April/May 2022. The visor popping out of place is dangerous because 1) it happens WHILE driving, especially over rough roads, and this obscures my view of the road (!!!), 2) it has happened multiple times, unpredictably, and 3) I cannot use the visor to block out bright light while driving because it falls out if I fold down the visor, which makes it difficult to drive comfortably around sunrise or sunset. On August 15th, 2022 went to the dealer where I purchased the vehicle (Autonation Jeep Bellevue in Washington state) to get this problem looked at as my vehicle is still under warranty. The service center confirmed the problem, as mentioned in the invoice, and they mentioned they would have to replace the entire sun visor assembly. However, I have not heard back from the dealer concerning replacement as likely the parts are on back order. The pictures I provided are for the visor popped out showing the visor popped out of place when it was supposed to be in the folded up, out of the way position, and the folded down position as well as the hinge that seems to pop out of place. According to different forums of owners of Wrangler JL like mine, visors popping out of place are frequent problems, and replacing the visor with the same visor assembly only temporarily fixes the problem because replacement does nothing about the bad design that leads to the visor falling out of place.

Clutch pedal intermittently sticks when pressed to the floor. If you press and hold the clutch to the floor and release it slowly you can feel it bind up. 3 things normally happen. #1. It will stick to the floor #2. It will stick for a short time and as you raise your foot, the pedal will hit the bottom of your foot, jerking the jeep forward. #3 it does release as normal. I have taken the Jeep to the dealer last year 8/21 and they couldn't replicate the issue. However they reported a leaky hose that they replaced. I couldn't identify any hoses that were newly replaced. It has gotten progressively worse and now I can replicate the issue after a few attempts. When at a complete stop pointing uphill there is a risk of rolling back into another vehicle if the clutch doesnt engage. Transitioning from a complete stop to moving forward is not very smooth if the clutch pops up on its own. Sometimes it ends up in the engine stopping and having to restart the vehicle. The Jeep is available for inspection. I have tried to schedule another repair but waiting for a response from the Dealer. The Jeep has other recalls for the clutch and I believe all recalls have been applied to the vehicle. I have an email that I sent to the dealer with photos that I sent to the dealer when I first noticed this issue. I can also try to find the invoice from last year.

My vehicle is still at the Jeep dealership service center being repaired, but so far, the reported issue includes a "shorted" fuse block. As I was driving the vehicle, I was approaching a red light when my vehicle abruptly halted. The cars behind & near me were forced to go around to avoid hitting my vehicle. The dashboard initially flashed the message "safety mode" or something similar, the check engine light came on, the brakes locked, & the power steering & windows ceased to function. While I waited for the police, I tried to restart the vehicle many times, in hopes of getting it into neutral and/or getting it off of the roadway - nothing worked. The vehicle then began to flash the message "Service Electronic Stability Control." The DOTD serviceman & the tow truck driver were unable to get the vehicle into neutral manually, so it had to be dragged using chains. Once the vehicle was towed to the Jeep dealership (Covington, LA), I was first told that the battery had a voltage of 0. After replacing the battery, I was told that the fuse block was shorted. The representative explained the fuse block's purpose, & further explained that because mine shorted, the battery was unable to communicate with the rest of the vehicle, like the alternator & the PCM, on how much voltage was coming out of the system - i.e., since my computer shorted, the vehicle did not know that the battery was dead. Thus, when the battery killed abruptly while driving, the vehicle basically panicked & went into “safe mode” (limp mode) & locked up the entire machine. I asked repeatedly how this happens and how it can be avoided in the future, and while dancing around many indirect answers, the rep stated that my fuse block in this instance basically caused a complete electronic failure of the vehicle. I am an attorney & I have spoken with experts who suggest that this issue should be investigated. It is a serious hazard & a defect for one glitched part to kill the entire machine while driving.

After one year of owning the Jeep Wrangler 2020 the steering wheel would lock up while driving. This not only puts me at risk but others also. After multiple times of this happening I have dodged multiple accidents and collisions with other cars and thankfully avoiding death. When the steering wheel locks & this happens I am not able to turn the wheel at all. We have attempted to get this car repaired by our dealership over 5 times, we are now in the process of the lemon law and FCA completely does not care. they are continuously brushing us off and dragging this whole process out. I have explained how dangerous this problem is and no one contacts us back. we have sent multiple emails and called and left voicemails and no one responds. FCA keeps asking for paperwork we have sent multiple times. This jeep wrangler is a death trap and I refuse to drive it. We are making payments every month and cannot enjoy the car. we have not even missed one payment and this is how we get treated. I will not recommend jeeps products to anyone. I don't think I will ever buy a jeep product again. I am putting this out there so no one else will be put in this miserable position or put their life In danger dealing with jeeps awful products. this needs to be addressed before someone dies.

I am getting an error message to "service shifter", and "service stability". The cars goes into a limp mode. The dash board alarms every error possible. Driving the car is unsafe, as it is unpredictable. When the car is off and the keys are not in it, the car will run in some way because the windshield wipers will start working. The vehicle has been brought to the dealership 4 times now with the same problem. They have not yet been able to permanently correct the issue. At most, I have gone 50 mile until the issue comes back. The warning messages will "ding" and appear on screen and the steering wheel will prevent driving any other way than straight forward. There were no other symptoms in the car, the car has been serviced regularly and on schedule by the dealership, and has approx 32K miles at this time. I have been researching the issue in different forums, and it appears that this has been reported as an issue since 2018. Unfortunately, I have yet to see a solution posted on the matter.

When you try to accelerate on to highway or try to accelerate to change lanes the engine losses power or the power shuts down. Trying to pass and losing power I had to return to my previous lane and forced several vehicles to slam on their brakes in my previous lane so I could return. Loosing power trying to enter the passing lane forced the vehicle to slam on their brakes that I had just merged into. On another 2 other occasions vehicle looses power when trying to merge onto freeway. First occasion I was able to pull off to shoulder to avoid flowing traffic. Second incident there was no shoulder when merging onto freeway. Semi truck changed lanes to avoid my vehicle because I could not accelerate to speed. These incidents seem to happen with altitude and freeway driving speeds. There are no engine codes showing. This recent incident happened in the Shasta pass area.

The rear camera/head unit freezes with an image of what was behind the vehicle when placed in reverse. This recently caused an issue where a group of people walked behind my Jeep while pulling out. Both myself and the group were fortunate enough that I caught one of the people walking behind my Jeep and stopped before backing into them with the backup camera still showing a clear path. This issue has been documented with Jeep and was serviced November of 2021. They replaced the unit but after a few months the new head unit started crashing and I am still having this intermittent issue where the screen shows a static image for the rear view upon placing the Jeep in reverse. No warning lamps or messages are shown. Eventually the watchdog timer times out after about a minute and the system reboots. The head unit will also crash randomly at other times while driving but this is the only instance it puts safety at risk. I would estimate it occurs 2-5% of the time I back out. Before I took the Jeep in for service I documented, in detail, each time the unit crashed and gave it to the service tech, I will send it to you as well when I locate the file. I also attached links to video showing a 2 examples at various different times this occurred, including an instance today. https://photos.app.goo.gl/pvrpoP44CjFHHfvN6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/ALu3dAw6Sarz3jzJ6

Our jeep has smelled of gas since our first week. We were told is was normal, when the tank is just filled or nearly empty, However It happpens all the time and I see that 14,000 2020 jeep wranglers were recalled. Not mine as I guess I have the larger engine. We do not smell it when the windows are up, but in good weather with windows down or top off, is it extremely disconcerting at stop lights. And we cannot park in a garage to be safe,

Driving on I-35 North (Texas) in the morning requires driving directly into the sun rise. I utilize my sun visor daily in order to maintain a safe view of the road, where people are frequently driving over 80 miles per hour. One morning on the way to work, I put my sun visor down so that I could see past the sun glare on my windshield. The sun visor then fell from its open position as I went over a bump in the road. At this point, the visor was hanging several inches lower than it normally does, almost completely obscuring my view of the road. The visor was not able to fall completely, because it was attached to the top of the car via electrical wiring. If it had fallen completely, I would have been in a much safer position. I needed to pull over ASAP but was unable to do so due to the construction on the highway and therefore had to hold the visor up with one hand while driving with the other until I could find a safe place to stop. The visor is still in the same state as it was when it initially failed. I have had to tape it up and am therefore unable to use it at all. There is no replacement part for the failed piece of plastic within the visor's housing. It requires replacement of the entire assembly, and that will contain the same part that failed in the first place. This seems to be a fairly common problem and has been discussed at length online, including at this website: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/sun-visor-fix.44865/

I was driving down freeway and all power cut out, pulled over and power came back on. A week later my service 4x4 light came on. I tried to put in 4wd and it got stuck, would not go into 4wd. I had to use excessive force to push stick back to 2wd. I called local dealership to set up an appoint. Service advisor told me he already knew what was wrong with it and that I would have to pay out of pocket because its not being covered by Chryler warranty regardless of mileage and with in warranty timeframe. He said it is a "common problem" because these vehicles have soybased wiring and attracts rodents. Took my vehicle in thinking that he must be wrong, but the technician identified that my wiring is damaged. The dealership refused to submit the claim to Chrysler corp nor would they put down their statement about the "soy based wiring" when I raised legal issues, they refused to work on my vehicle even if I paid as they stated" they dont want the publicity". I was never informed on purchase that the vehicle i purchased had this safety issue. Work order states damage but eludes specific cause on invoice, no repairs were done, service 4wd light still on, I only have 2wd, all dealerships in area are owned by same group who sold me this vehicle and no appoints for 1 to 2 months available.

I have a 2020 JL Rubicon with manual transmission and 15,970 miles on the vehicle. I have taken it into my local dealer twice for clutch recall issues, the latest in November 2021. 3 weeks later my clutch failed in the middle of a 5 lane highway; there was a terrible grinding noise and a burning smell and the vehicle came to a halt within 30 seconds. I was extremely lucky to be able to get over to the shoulder before it died in the middle of the highway. I had the vehicle towed to the nearest dealer and they say the clutch failed due to user error and I need to pay $4500 for repair. I opened a case and it was summarily closed one day later, with FCA providing the same user error answer based on the notes from the dealership. The issue with the manual transmission in this model is well known, as any search of Jeep forums will tell you, and FCA has consistently denied any responsibility.

a safety issue that has been termed the Jeep "death wobble" has occurred numerous times over the past 6 months . When a bump or pothole is confronted , there is a violent shaking of the steering wheel and front end and it takes anywhere from 5-15 seconds to resume control of the vehicle . This usually occurs at a speed of 55-65 miles per hour . control of the vehicle is virtually impossible when this occurs and only resumes stability when speed of the vehicle declines. Three repairs have been attempted to correct the issue , with genuine Chrysler parts used , but to no avail. This safety issue and dangerous condition has been documented with Chrysler since 2010 and there are 2 class action lawsuits still in place vs. Chrysler, the most recent being one regarding 2018-2020 jeep wranglers , filed in California.

Vehicles forward of me showed no signs of being effected by the wind, very fortunate no one had been beside me. This is not the first time similar loss of control has happened, I’m almost afraid to drive this Jeep on highways at this point. While driving at highway speed into sun glare, the driver’s side sunvisor spontaneously detached from the support arm, fell down , and obstructed my view causing me to take emergency action to regain full traffic / road vision. I safely pulled to side of the road. No collisions or injury occurred but this could have easily resulted in a crash. Further inspection showed the plastic snapped allowing the visor arm to detach from its mount on the windshield frame causing it to fall into field of view. Unquestionably a safety concern and a design flaw.

I had to manipulate it back to the clip to get it to stay out of my way, all while driving at high speeds and in traffic. Doing an online search I see where the visor is defective in many of these vehicles. Luckily I wasn't involved in an accident, but the potential was there as the visor broke and dangled in my view of the road at Interstate speeds. As I moved the passenger seat forward to allow access to the backseat I heard plastic break. The seat will not go back in it's up right and locked position. The seat could move freely forward when breaking and backwards when accelerating. The vehicle is under warranty and I took it to the dealership and they told me they have to order the seat bracket in order to fix it and that would take 4 to 5 weeks at the earliest. This vehicle is unsafe to drive in this condition and others should be warned of these defective plastic parts used in the seat. I cannot utilize my vehicle to transport anybody because of it being a safety risk to any passenger as well as myself do to the seat not being able to perform accurate side airbag protection. This same problem has been reported by other people on Jeep Forms. I just spoke to Jeep Parts manager to find out when my part will be available and she said there is a backlog of over 85 customers with Jeeps with the identical problem and the parts are not currently available so this is NOT an isolated issue and IS NOT BEING REMEDIED QUICKLY TO PRECLUDE A SERIOUS INJURY.

All of these things cause immense distraction and pose great danger to a driver as well as other drivers on the road. This vehicle had a little over 4,000 miles on it when I purchased it. Purchased dec 2020 and Uconnect replaced by dealer early 2021. The same issues are occurring with the replacement system. Took jeep in today, on 10/4/2021 and they say they have ordered another Uconnect system however, I doubt it will fix these issues. Very disappointed in this vehicle for it to be such an expensive purchase.

On 7-13-21 rear defroster for the jeep wrangler sport hardtop rear windshield was repaired at Larry H. Miller chrysler/jeep/dodge at 8528 Lomas blvd ne, Albuquerque NM 87110. On 10-1-21, I used the rear defroster for the first time since repaired. 5 minutes into my commute to work, rear windshield shattered while driving. Luckily it did not cause an accident. I could smell something burning and remaining glass was hot to the touch. There were no pedestrians or vehicles nearby. There were no signs of any external projectile causing the shattered glass. Took to dealership where they refused to cover under warranty and would not admit that the defroster was responsible. In fact, they say it is impossible the defroster could cause that. Checking online, it appears that it is not only possible, but pretty common. I believe fiat/chrysler is intentionally trying to cover up this problem. Luckily there was no accident and no one was hurt in this instance.

The Jeep wanders across the road when on the highway. It is extremely susceptible to road dips, lines, and other highway like surface deviations. The Jeep will be pulled rather violently from side to side when large trucks pass by. The issue is the steering will not easily correct the direction of the Jeep as it has a large dead spot (2 inches) in the middle of the steering circle. This is my 3rd Jeep and 4th solid axle automobile and I have never had this experience with any of the other autos I have owned.

Same problem as other Jeeps. Seems like any time driving over 50mph and hit some type of bump/hole, big or small, my steering wheel shakes violently. All 3 times this has happen, I had to exit to the emergency lane/reduce speed below 15mph in order to get the Jeep back under control. I tool Jeep in and all they did was align the front end. Since then, the problem is still occurring. The Jeep is back at the dealership now. It has less than 11500 miles since I bought it in 09/2020. I see there was a recall of this type of vehicle, but mind was not included. The problem seems to include my Jeep which was not in the recall. I am hoping something can be done to correct the problem since it is still on going and the dealership can not fix it.

I bought this 2020 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon as a factory order, assembled in August 2019, delivered in September 2019. Since I got it, it has had incredibly loose steering. I was assured by the dealer this was standard. I previously owned a 2016 Jeep Wrangler (previous generation) that did not have the same looseness in steering. At my dealer's recommendation, I purchased and had them install a new steering stabilizer ($250) and upgraded control arms ($400). This helped the handling of the vehicle but did not improve the steering. I recently had the TSB 08-074-20 performed which replaced the steering gear box. It did not improve the steering at all and it continues to be loose. I can turn the steering wheel from 10 oclock to 2oclock and the wheels do not turn at all. This makes it incredibly difficult to drive, especially at high speed. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle above 55mph, especially around curves on the highway.

This started in May. The rear locker light came on by it self while driving, and at one point, service locker light was also lit up. I wanted to make the appointment but the light went out so I continued driving. In June, It came back on so I made an appointment with the dealer who was not able to get me in. The dealer kept the car for almost 2 weeks, changed a part and sent me home. As I was driving home from the dealership, the light came back on. If the axle is locked at a high speed(which is for off road, low speed only) this could potentially damage the rear axle differential and have catastrophic failure, which could lead to a crash. This issue is occuring at random.

A bunch of lights started to pop on my dashboard and said things like Service Airbag System, Service Shifter, Traction Control On while I was driving on a busy road. My steering wheel was also locked so I was unable to turn left or right. Thankfully, I was on the right side of the road so I was somehow able to get on the side of the road and pull over. When I put my car on park, the car would start jerking forward. I turned my car on and off and it was still doing the same thing. I turned it off again and after about 15 minutes, my steering wheel was unlocked. I took my car to the dealership and had them take a look at it. A few days later, they "fixed" it and told me it was a battery issue and that it was resolved. Two days later, the exact same thing happened AGAIN while I was on a 1 way street. It was INCREDIBLY dangerous, because it happened right before I had to go up an S curve. It was in the middle of a storm and there were a lot of cars going the other way and a lot of cars behind me. I turned on my hazard lights and had to go up the curve very slowly and there was somewhere I could turn right. Since my steering wheel was locked, I wasn't able to turn onto the street and ended up in a patch of grass. My car is currently at the dealership again. They told me it was a wiring issue and they are going to keep it and test drive it a few times.

Knowing that this was not 'normal' we scheduled a service appointment with the dealership. Upon inspection, it was found that the gas line was leaking due to rubbing on a component. The resolution was the dealer replacing the line, rerouting, and verifying the repair. It should be noted that: 1. The vehicle is stock & has not been modified 2. Despite the strong smell of gas, there were not any warning messages/check engine lights, performance issues, etc. that would otherwise signal an issue

The AutoPark sensors, ( Park Collision Warning), in my 2020 Jeep Wrangler randomly triggers and engages AutoPark. The false triggers randomly occur when the vehicle is in reverse. The condition occurs at very low speed after the brake is touched. The false triggers occur during daylight or night conditions. Once AutoPark is engaged the vehicle will not move. The engine must be turned off and sometimes the AutoPark switch must be turned off before the vehicle will move. There is usually no object within 15 feet of my vehicle to trigger the autopark sensors. I videotaped some of the occurrences using my cell phone. The Jeep service department is not able to diagnose the problem. In addition, the false triggers are not creating system log entries to prove the event occurred. Jeep service department will not use my videos as evidence the event happened. Jeep Service will not escalate the problem unless their service department can recreate the condition. I HAVE TAKEN MY JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON JLU INTO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR LOOSE STEERING AT 7,507 MILES. THE TSB PART NUMBER 08-074-20 WAS ORDERED AND TOOK OVER A MONTH TO COME IN. ONCE COMPLETED THE STEERING DID FEEL BETTER FOR 2,000 MILES AND THEN BECAME VERY LOOSE AGAIN. IT'S VERY UNCOMFORTABLE TO DRIVE SPEEDS OVER 45MPH. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT AND WAS TOLD THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE A JEEP WRANGLER. I TOLD THEM THAT IT WAS THE STEERING WAS FINE FOR 7,000 MILES WITH ZERO COMPLAINTS AND THIS WAS NOW MY THIRD WRANGLER I'VE OWED.

STEERING IS SO LOOSE THAT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE CONTINUED MOTION BACK AND FORTH ON THE STEERING WHEEL THAT IS REQUIRED TO ATTEMPT TO KEEP MY VEHICLE IN IT'S LANE CAUSES IT TO WOBBLE AND BECOME UNSTEADY ON THE ROADWAY. IT IS LOOSE ALL THE TIME BUT IS MOST DANGEROUSLY NOTICEABLE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN AT HIGHER RATES OF SPEED. THE DATE LISTED BELOW IS JUST ONE DATE THAT I SPECIFICALLY REMEMBER ALTHOUGH IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.

MY 2020 JEEP WRANGLER JLUR HAS A DEAD SPOT IN THE STEERING WHEEL THAT IS ABOUT 1.5 TO 2 INCHES OF STEERING TURN WITH NO RESPONSE. IT IS VERY HARD TO KEEP IT FROM OVER STEERING ESPECIALLY AT SPEEDS MORE THAN 50 MPH. I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY MAKE MICRO-ADJUSTMENTS TO KEEP IT IN MY LANE. WHEN LARGE TRUCKS LIKE 18 WHEELERS PASS ME IT GETS VERY DICEY. I'VE GOTTEN SCARED TO DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY JEEP NOW. THERE IS NO EXCUSE AT ALL FOR A VEHICLE TO DRIVE THIS POORLY. I PAID NEARLY $60K FOR THIS CAR AND IT ONLY HAS 5,000 MILES ON IT THUS FAR. THE PROBLEM STARTED AT ABOUT 2,700 MILES. I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD MY FIRST OIL CHANGE YET. I HAVE HEARD MANY OTHERS WITH JL'S HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. FCA NEEDS TO RECALL THE STEERING ON JL WRANGLERS BEFORE PEOPLE GET INJURED OR DIE FROM THIS STEERING ISSUE. IT'S NOT SAFE!!

I PURCHASED THE JEEP 7/4/2020 NEW OFF THE LOT WITH 9 MILES ON IT. I NOTICED RIGHT AWAY DRIVING HOME THAT THE CAR WANDERED A LOT AND I SPENT A LOT OF TIME CORRECTING THE STEERING TO STAY IN THE LANES. IT WAS SCARY. I HAD EVEN MORE DIFFICULTY ON THE BACK ROADS HERE IN NORTH CAROLINA AND ESPECIALLY ON THE FREEWAY WITH ANY KIND OF WIND. I SPENT A LOT OF TIME ON THE JEEP BOARDS AND FOUND THE TSB BULLETIN THAT CAME OUT ABOUT THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ALUMINUM STEERING BOX WITH 2 SCREWS WITH THE STEEL STEERING BOX WITH THE 4 SCREWS. I TOOK IT IN THE BEGINNING OF SEPTEMBER AND THE BOX ARRIVED MID-OCTOBER DUE TO THE BACKLOG. IT WAS INSTALLED BUT IT MADE LITTLE DIFFERENCE. I HAD OTHER WARRANTY ISSUES WITH THE JEEP AND CONTINUED TO ASK EACH TIME I WENT IN AND WAS TOLD THAT'S JUST JEEPS AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I HAD AN OLDER JEEP AS A RENTAL FOR A WHOLE WEEK AND IT DIDN'T HAVE THIS STEERING ISSUE. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP WHO COMPARED THE NOTES OF WHAT WAS DONE AND CONFIRMED THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THEY COULD DO AS PROTOCOL WAS FOLLOWED. THE CAR IS DANGEROUS. I CAN'T LET MY KIDS DRIVE IT AS IT IS REALLY ONLY FOR AN ADVANCED DRIVER WHO CAN DEAL WITH THE CONSTANT WANDERING IN AND OUT OF THE LANES. I HAVE A VIDEO I CAN SUBMIT BUT IT LOOKS LIKE MOV FILES ARE NOT ACCEPTED. PLEASE ADVISE IF YOU WANT A COPY OF THE MOVIE AFTER THE STEERING BOX REPLACEMENT.

THE DAY MY HUSBAND PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FOR ME, I DROVE DOWN TO MY HOUSE ON A HIGHWAY (SPEED LIMIT WAS 55 MPH), I NOTICED STEERING WHEEL STARTS WOBBLING AT A SPEED OF 50-55 MPH, IT WOBBLED MORE GOING AROUND THE CURB, IT REALLY SCARED ME SO I HAD TO STOP THE CAR AND ASK MY HUSBAND TO DRIVE AND SEE WHAT HIS OPINION ON THE LOOSE STEERING WHEEL. HE SAID HE FELT THE SAME WOBBLE AS I DID AND CALLED THE SALES PERSON TO HAVE THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT CHECK IT OUT. THIS VEHICLE IS DOING SAME THINGS THAT IT HAD DESCRIBED IN THE DEATH WOBBLE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. THIS IS BRAND NEW 2020 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON, THEIR TOP OF THE LINE JEEP. TWO DAYS LATER, MY CAR WAS IN THE SHOP, THEY CHECKED IT OUT AND SAID STEERING WHEEL WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO ORDER THE PART WHICH WAS NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL NOVEMBER AND GAVE ME A NUMBER TO CALL THE CHRYSLER PARTS DEPARTMENT FOR SPEEDY DELIVERY ON THE PART. THE CASE MANAGER SAID PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL NOVEMBER NO MATTER WHO CALLED BECAUSE THEY HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE WAITING ON THIS PART(A NEW STEERING GEAR). THE MANUFACTURER KNEW THAT THEY WERE PUTTING OUT VEHICLES WITH DEFECTIVE PARTS AND DEALER KNEW THAT THIS VEHICLE HAD THE BAD PARTS SINCE IT WAS IN THEIR TBS BUT THEY STILL SELLING THESE VEHICLES ON THEIR CAR LOT. SINCE THEN, THEY GOT THE NEW PART AND REPLACED IT BUT STILL HAD THE SAME WOBBLY STEERING WHEEL, VERY SCARY FEELING. I HAVE THE DETAILED NOTES ON WHAT HAS HAPPENED WITH THIS VEHICLE. MY HUSBAND PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WITH 575 MILES ON IT.

WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION THERE IS A NOTICEABLE AMOUNT OF PLAY IN THE STEERING. SO MUCH AS AN INCH OR MORE TO EITHER SIDE OF 12 O'CLOCK. IT IS NERVE WRACKING WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE STEERING WHEEL KEEPS SEE-SAWING BACK AND FORTH. I'VE HAD IT TO THE DEALER WHERE PURCHASED THREE TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT REGARDING THE STEERING GEAR BOX. THE DEALER INSTALLED THE PARTS THAT NEEDED REPLACING. THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THEY STATE THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE JEEP WRANGLER. BELIEVING THAT IT IS NOT NORMAL I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALER. I RECEIVED THE SAME RESPONSE, IT CANNOT BE ADJUSTED OR CORRECTED IN ANY WAY. AGAIN THEY STATED THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE WRANGLER. I HAVE REPAIR INVOICES, BUT DO NOT KNOW HOW TO UPLOAD THEM. FROM INQUIRING ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THE PROBLEM I SEE THAT THERE QUITE A FEW BLOGS THAT PEOPLE HAVE WRITTEN IN REGARDING THE SAME PROBLEM.

HAD IT FOR LESS THAN 2 WEEKS (WAS BRAND NEW, PURCHASED WITH ONLY 43 MILES) AND DECIDED TO TAKE IT ON A FALL ROAD TRIP. HALFWAY THROUGH OUR ROAD TRIP (ABOUT 100 MILES IN) ENGINE STARTED 'JUMPING' AND 'HEAVING' WHILE IN CRUISE CONTROL ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MP; THEN WOUDN'T ACCELERATE AT ALL, AND SPEED STARTED TO DECLINE. WAS VERY NEAR AN EXIT, SO WAS ABLE TO COAST IN TO A GAS STATION. ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL ERROR CODE + SERVICE ENGINE LIGHTS WERE LIT. ATTEMPTED TO TURN OFF AN ON SEVERAL TIMES, HOPING THIS WAS JUST SOME KIND OF GLITCH, BUT AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS IT WOUDN'T EVEN STAY STARTED. WHILE IN PARK, AFTER PRESSING "START" ENGINE JUST KEPT JUMPING THEN AUTOMATICALLY WOULD SHUT ITSELF OFF. OUR WHOLE FAMILY STRANDED HOURS AWAY FROM HOME. UNDER 500 MILES AND IT HAD TO BE TOWED IN TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP WHERE IT'S BEEN SITTING FOR ALMOST A WEEK NOW AND THEY STILL HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW TO FIX IT. WAS TOLD THAT IT LIT UP WITH SO MANY ERROR CODES THEY HAVE TO GET A SPECIAL ENGINEER FROM MOPAR TO COME OUT' JUST IN SHOCK THAT WE'RE HAVING THIS ISSUE WITH A $65K VEHICLE. VERY UNSAFE.

UNSAFE LOOSE STEERING IN THIS 2020 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT S WILLY'S EDITION.. THE WHEEL HAS A LARGE DEAD SPACE REQUIRING OVER CORRECTING TO MAINTAIN THE VEHICLE IN IT'S LANE. DUE TO THE DEAD SPACE I HAVE TO PERFORM A "SAWING MOTION" TO KEEP THE JEEP IN ITS LANE. THE EXCESS STEERING WHEEL MOTION IS AT LOW SPEEDS AS WELL AS HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE JEEP CAN VEER RIGHT OR LEFT DEPENDING ON THE ROAD. WHEN I HOLD THE WHEEL COMPLETELY STILL, THE TIRES CAN BE FELT MOVING RIGHT AND LEFT. MY 16 YEAR OLD SON ALMOST WRECKED THE JEEP THE FIRST DAY IN A 25 MPH NEIGHBORHOOD DUE TO THE OVERCORRECTING NEEDED TO STEER IT STRAIGHT.. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT OR KILLED. I WAS TOLD INITIALLY THIS WAS A "JEEP THING" BY SOMEONE AT THE DEALERSHIP. I DID TAKE IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE TECH WITHOUT DRIVING IT RIGHT AWAY SAID YOU NEED A NEW STEERING BOX. I PURCHASED THIS JEEP SEPT 23. THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN THAT CAME OUT AUG 10 BY THE COMPANY # 08-074-20 FOR IMPROVED STEERING FEEL. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. THERE IS A STEERING PROBLEM THAT WOULD NOT BE ACCEPTED BY ANY OTHER CAR. IT IS NOT A "JEEP THING".

VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT TURN BACK ON AFTER ENGINE SHUTS OFF DURING NORMAL ELECTRONIC START SYSTEM OPERATION. ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHEN NEARLY AND AT A STOP. WHEN RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE ENGINE DOES NOT TURN BACK ON. THERE HAVE BEEN THREE OCCURRENCES AS FOLLOWS: OCCURRENCE 1 6/27/2020: EXITING THE THRUWAY AND NEARLY AT A COMPLETE STOP AT A LIGHT AT EXIT WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF DUE TO ESS SYSTEM. UPON RELEASING THE BRAKE TO BEGIN DRIVING, THE ENGINE FAILED TO TURN ON. OPERATOR WAS PUSHING GAS PEDAL TO GO, THE ENGINE REMAINED OFF. REMEDY WAS TO TAP THE BRAKE AGAIN IN WHICH THE ENGINE TURNED ON AND WAS ABLE TO MOVE. OCCURRENCE 2 7/13/2020: CAME TO A STOP IN TRAFFIC ON A STREET. ENGINE SHUT OFF DUE TO ESS SYSTEM AS DESIGNED. UPON RELEASING THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE DID NOT RESTART. OPERATOR PUSHING GAS PEDAL MULTIPLE TIMES AND ENGINE STILL DID NOT TURN BACK ON, SITTING 'DEAD' IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. ATTEMPTING TO PUSH THE PUSH START BUTTON DID NOT TURN VEHICLE BACK ON. REMEDY AGAIN WAS TO PUSH BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN AND ENGINE TURNED ON. OCCURRENCE 3 AUGUST 2,2020: OPERATOR IN TRAFFIC, CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. RELEASED BRAKE PEDAL TO BEGIN MOVING. ENGINE DID NOT TURN BACK ON, AND SHIFTER 'D' SYMBOL BEGAN FLASHING. TAPPING BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT RESTART VEHICLE. DASHBOARD STATED 'SHIFT TO P TO PARK', TO PLACE VEHICLE IN PARK POSITION. PLACED VEHICLE INTO PARK, HAD TO RESTART ENGINE BY PUSHING START BUTTON. ENGINE TURNED ON AND WAS ABLE TO MOVE. I HAVE A VIDEO SHOWING THE THIRD OCCURRENCE, HOWEVER THIS SUBMISSION ONLY ALLOWS PICTURE FORMAT SO TOOK SNAPSHOTS OF CODE. SENT VIDEO TO FCA, HAVE MULTIPLE RECORDED VISITS TO DEALER TO FIND ISSUE, NO ROOT CAUSE DETERMINED AT THIS POINT. REQUESTED REFUND/REPLACEMENT.

NEAR HIGH SPEED CRASH SITUATION, TWICE, FOR FAULT THAT THE DEALERSHIP HAS CONFIRMED BUT DOES NOT HAVE A SOLUTION FOR! FIRST INCIDENT... HAD TO GENTLY SWERVE ON FREEWAY WHEN A CAR PULLED INTO MY LANE WITHOUT WARNING. ALMOST LOST CONTROL, BACK END FISHTAILED HORRIBLY, TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL BACK THE OTHER WAY TO ATTEMPT TO TAKE CONTROL AND MASSIVE OVERSTEER CAUSED THE CAR TO JUMP 2 LANES THE OTHER WAY. LUCKY NOT TO CRASH. DEALERSHIP TOOK VEHICLE IN A SAID THERE WAS A KNOWN FAULT THAT NEEDED ADDRESSING! THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN RECALLED, SO IF IT IS A KNOWN FAULT THAT IS FRIGHTENING. THE HAD TO GET A PART IN WHICH TOOK APPROX 10 DAYS. THEY ALSO MADE SOME CHANGES TO THE POWER STEERING. CAR RETURNED TO US. ON FIRST DRIVE ON SAME STRETCH OF FREEWAY (70 AND 75 MPH), WE WERE IN A SIMILAR SITUATION/INCIDENT. AGAIN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A BIT OF "NOTHING" SITUATION, WITH A LITTLE SWERVE AND THAT'S ALL. INSTEAD WE ONCE AGAIN LOST CONTROL AND SPENT APPROX 15 SECONDS GETTING UNDER CONTROL AND SECURELY IN ONE LANE. IT WENT BACK TO DEALERSHIP. THE HAD FOR 12 DAYS WITH ZERO UPDATE/CONTACT. THEN THEY TOLD ME A SPECIALIST HAD BEEN PULLED IN AND HE HAD DRIVEN IT AND CONFIRMED A SAFETY ISSUE AT HIGH SPEEDS. THE CAR WAS ORDERED THROUGH THIS DEALERSHIP WITH LARGE WHEELS AS PART OF THE PACKAGE/ORDER. THE SPECIALIST SWITCHED TO FACTORY WHEELS AND TESTED AGAIN - HE SAID IT WAS NOW OK, SO WHEELS ARE THE ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP OFFERED ONE SOLUTION TO MAKE THE CAR SAFE AFTER THIS - PUT THE FACTORY WHEELS BACK ON. NO! IF WE COULD ONLY HAVE HAS FACTORY WHEELS WE WOULD NEVER HAVE PURCHASED A WRANGLER IN THE FIRST PLACE! IT'S LIKE BUYING A WHITE CAR AND THEN BEING TOLD IT HAS TO BE REPAINTED RED, WHEN ONE HATES RED CARS - NOT ACCEPTABLE. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR MORE DAYS THAN IN OUR POSSESSION, AND WE CANNOT SAFELY DRIVE IT ON THE FREEWAY IN THE ORDERED FORM. SHOCKING

SINCE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN JUNE I HAVE NOTICED IT PULLING TO THE RIGHT WHEN DRIVING THE STEERING IS STIFF ON THE LEFT BUT LOOSE ON THE RIGHT MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO KEEP CENTERED IN THE ROAD WITHOUT USING TWO HANDS ON THE WHEEL. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY DID A WHEEL ALIGNMENT WHICH HELPED A LITTLE, BUT STILL PROBLEMATIC. THIS IS THE 4TH WRANGLER I'VE OWNED AND I NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH MY OTHER JEEPS. I READ ABOUT THE RECALL OF THE LEFT CONTROL ARM BRACKET. WE LOOKED UNDER THE JEEP AXEL AND THE LEFT SIDE IS FINE THE RIGHT SIDE CONTROL ARM BRACKET APPEARS CRACKED. I TOOK A PHOTO.*DT *JS

I PURCHASED MY 2020 RUBICON LAST WEEK 09/01/2020. THIS JEEP'S STEERING WHEEL RESPONSIVENESS IS EXTREMELY "LOOSE". AT SPEEDS OF 55+ MPH I DO NOT FEEL IN CONTROL OF THE JEEP AT TIMES AND IT IS UNNERVING. THIS IS ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE ON A HIGHWAY BEND OR A NARROW ROAD PASSAGE. IT IS CHALLENGING TO MAINTAIN THE VEHICLE IN A CONSTANT TRAJECTORY. THE STEERING WHEEL WANDERS AND IT IS AN EXHAUSTIVE EFFORT TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT. (I HAVE PREVIOUSLY OWNED 2 WRANGLERS AND THIS WAS NEVER AN ISSUE OR EXPERIENCE. I AM A LOYAL JEEP OWNER, BUT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE.

ON 8/3/2020 WITH 300 MILES BATTERY IS DEAD. ON 8/13/2020 TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND FOUND NOTHING. 8/13 ENGINE DIED AT A SIGNAL AND RADIO SHUTS DOWN. JEEP IS FINE FOR 9 DAYS WITHOUT ENGINE LIGHT ON. 8/24 ENGINE LIGHT RETURNS ON. 8/25 ENGINE DIES AT A SIGNAL,AND THE RADIO SHUTS DOWN. WHILE ON THE FREEWAY, BATTERY LIGHTS, ABS, AND TRACTION/STABILIZER LIGHTS COME ON. THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT, AND WAS HARD TO STEER. THE HEATER COMES ON VIA DEFROST VENTS BLASTING HOT AIR AND UNABLE TO TURN OFF. POWER ACCELERATION GOES OUT. VERY SCAREY AND DANGEROUS. ALL LIGHTS ARE FLASHING ON DASH PANEL AND THE CAR IS DIES. JEEP TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. ON 8/27 THE TECHNICIAN TRIED TO CHARGE BATTERIES FOR ONE AND HALF HOURS ON 1ST ATTEMPT WITH NO SUCCESS. TECHNICIAN SAID BATTERY SEVERELY DISCHARGED AND THEY COULD NOT RETRIEVE INFORMATION. ON 8/31 AFTER HOURS ON A CHARGE ON THE 2ND ATTEMPT, THE BATTERIES CHARGE AND TECHNICIAN CLEARED ALL CODES TECHNICIAN DROVE IT A COUPLE OF DAYS (MILEAGE IS NOW 670) AND BECAUSE NO CODES RETURNED "ON", SAYS THE JEEP IS FIXED. ON 9/3 WE PICK UP THE JEEP. THE NEXT DAY 9/4 NEW PANEL LIGHTS COME ON FOR THE PARKSENSE SYSTEM. THE DASH PANEL SAYS TO WIPE CLEAN. THEY ARE CLEAN. THE TURN ON/OFF BUTTON LIGHT CONTINUES TO BLINK. OPENED A CASE # 77098337 WITH JEEP CARE ON 8/31 AND HAVE HAD NO HELP AND SENT DETAILED DOCUMENTION AND VIDEOS OF THE PROBLEMS. THE CAUSE IS DEFINITELY ELECTRICAL WITH THE BATTERIES NOT BEING ABLE TO HOLD A CHARGE. WE ARE IN FEAR OF DRIVING THIS JEEP AND BEING STRANDED SOMEWHERE REMOTE AND HAVE WHAT HAPPENED TO US HAPPEN AGAIN ENDING IN AN INJURY ACCIDENT OR DEATH BECAUSE OF THE LOSS OF POWER TO STEERING AND ACCELERATION. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. WE THOUGHT THE JEEP WAS GOING TO CATCH FIRE BECAUSE OF THE HEAT COMING OUT OF THE VENTS. PLEASE HELP! I HAVE VIDEOS BUT CANNOT UPLOAD HERE SO TOOK SCREENSHOTS FROM THE VIDEOS.

EACH TIME, THE VEHICLE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED HIGH AND SHOT FORWARD [INTO AN INTERSECTION ONCE THROUGH A STOP SIGN!]. ON ALL OCCASIONS, THE ACCELERATOR PEDDLE WAS NOT DEPRESSED AND THE FLOOR MAT WAS NOT INTERFERING. THE STEERING WHEEL CAN BE TURNED FROM TOP DEAD CENTER AN INCH IN EITHER DIRECTION WITH THE VEHICLE TURNING. THIS IS MORE NOTICEABLE ON HIGHWAY WHERE IT WORRIES ME THE MOST. I CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE VEHICLE BEING PUSHED BY THE WIND AND WHEN THE STEERING IS NOT RESPONDING. SINCE THIS VEHICLE IS TOP HEAVY, I DO NOT WANT TO OVER TURN TO MAKE UP FOR THE LACK OF STEERING RESPONSE. AN EXAMPLE OF THE ISSUE IS AS FOLLOWS: ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN BETWEEN TWO VEHICLES, THE VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT COMES CLOSER. TO COUNTER ACT THIS I TURN SLIGHTLY LEFT AND IT TAKES ABOUT 2 INCHES OF WHEEL TURN BEFORE THE STEERING REACTS AND GOES LEFT. THIS DELAY I FEEL IS VERY UNSAFE AND MAY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. ALSO THIS STEERING ISSUES CAUSE ME TO CONSTANTLY CORRECTING STEERING WHEEL WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT. THE VEHICLE IS CONSTANTLY GOING FROM LANE MARKER TO LANE MARKER EVEN WITH STEERING CORRECTION. IT'S LIKE A DRUNK DRIVER IS DRIVING MY VEHICLE. I HAVE VIDEO SHOWING HOW MUCH THE STEERING CAN MOVE WITHOUT RESPONSE BUT NOTICED I CANNOT UPLOAD VIDEO.

2020 JEEP WRANGLER BOUGHT JULY 16 2020 HAD 35 MILES AND NOW IT IS 1000 MILES. WHILE DRIVING AT ALL SPEEDS VEHICLE DRIFTS LEFT TO RIGHT, YOU CONSTANTLY NEED TO BE CORRECTING STEERING TO KEEP VEHICLE IN YOUR OWN LANE. STEERING GET WORSE AT SPEEDS ABOVE 40 MPH. YOU NEED TO BE MOVING STEERING WHEEL BACK AND FORTH TO KEEP VEHICLE STRAIGHT AND THEN WITHOUT WARNING YOU ARE BEING JERKED INTO OTHER LANE. I HAVE BEEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES, 4 SOFT TOP REPLACEMENT AND OR REPAIRS ALSO OTHER VISITS... ALSO 1 SOFT TOP REPLACEMENT. WATER LEAKS, TOP LITERALLY COMING OFF/ OUT OF FRAME AT SPEEDS OVER 30 MPH. 2 OF THE TOPS HAD FRICTION BURN/ TEARS AND THE 3RD IS DOING THE SAME THING BUT WORSE. CARPETS ARE SATURATED WITH WATER DAYS AFTER RAINING. THE JEEP HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP OR IN MY DRIVEWAY UNABLE TO USE WHEN IT RAINS, OVER SPEEDS OF 30 MPH. CURRENTLY THE TOP HAS A BIG OPENING THAT CANE LOSE ABOVE THE DRIVER SIDE WINDSHIELD AND AIR AND OR RAIN MISTS INTO MY FACE. I HAVE ASKED TO HAVE IT REPLACED WITH A HARD TOP OR A VINYL SOFT TOP MULTIPLE TIMES TO SEE IF THAT WOULD HELP, EVEN THO I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WITH THE 'BLACK AND TAN' PACKAGE WHICH CONSISTS OF TAN CANVAS SOFT TOP AND TAN INTERIOR, BLACK EXTERIOR. THEY STATED 'THEY (THE DEALER) CAN NOT DO THAT BECAUSE OF THE VIN #' BUT THEN STATED I COULD BUY ONE FROM THEM. AS OF TODAY MY 2020 JEEP WITH APPROXIMATELY 4,800 SITS IN MY DRIVEWAY OUT OF SERVICE. I PURCHASED/LEASED A NEW VEHICLE BECAUSE I HAVE CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE, MULTIPLE DR. APPOINTMENTS, A NEW BORN BABY AND 2 OTHER CHILDREN, I NEED A RELIABLE VEHICLE. THE JEEP IS UNSAFE FOR MYSELF AND DRIVERS BEHIND ME, FEARING THE TOP MAY COMPLETELY COME OFF WHILE DRIVING AND OR METAL FRAME.

MY NEW 2020 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON HAS EXCESSIVE STEERING-WHEEL PLAY RESULTING IN AN INABILITY TO MAINTAIN A STRAIGHT LINE AT SPEED ON THE INTERSTATES. UNLIKE MY PREVIOUS 1997 AND 2005 WRANGLER OR CURRENT 2012 GRAND CHEROKEE, WHICH PERMIT TOTAL STEERING CONTROL, MT RUBICON MOVES FROM SIDE-TO-SIDE, I.E., "FLOATS, " WHEN DRIVING AT SPEED GREATER THAN 30 MPH OR ON BUMPY ROADS AND GETS WORSE ON INTERSTATES AT 60. CAN'T MAINTAIN A STRAIGHT LINE IN THE LANE, ONLY ABLE TO RECOVER AS THE VEHICLE DRIFTS FROM CENTER WHICH IS CONSTANT. THE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPT SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AND IT IS A JEEP THING. CHRYSLER'S CUSTOMER CONCERN DEPT SAYS TAKING IT TO THE DEALER BUT AFTER THE THIRD TIME WITH ONLY 9,000 MILES ON THE JEEP I FEEL IT WILL NOT BE FIXED.AS I'VE DRIVEN ALL MODELS OF JEEP FOR SOME 30 YEARS, I'M QUITE DISAPPOINTED IN AS MUCH AS IT'S A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE NOT BEING ABLE TO FULLY CONTROL THE FRONT END AT SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY.

TEST DROVE A 2020 JEEP SAHARA ON 8/7/2020 AND DROVE GOOD. BOUGHT A WHITE ONE BUT WAS NOT READY SO IT WAS GOING TO GET DELIVERED THE NEXT DAY AT MY HOUSE. I DID A TEST DRIVE AROUND 5:00PM, WEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND STEERING WAS REALLY OFF, DID A TURN AROUND TO COME BACK HOME. AT 55 PMH I TRIED TO CHANGE LANES AND I I LOST CONTROL AND ENDED UP IN A DITCH. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER DRIVING FOR A BIT AND ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. I HAVE NOTICED IF YOU TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND BACK ON, IT SEEMS TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT THE UNEXPECTED LOSS OF ACCELERATION AND ABILITY TO REACH NORMAL OPERATING SPEED HAS PUT ME IN DANGER SITUATIONS NUMEROUS TIMES. 2020 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SAHARA COMPLAINT. VIN: [XXX] DATE OF PURCHASE 07/20/2020 I LEASED A BRAND NEW 2020 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SAHARA WITH A 2.0 4CYL TURBO. I AM LOVING EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CAR EXCEPT THE STEERING. THE STEERING ON THIS VEHICLE IS TERRIBLE AND DANGEROUS!!! THE STEERING IS LOOSE AND ON IT'S OWN, IT WILL DRIFT OR FLOAT TO EITHER SIDE, RIGHT OR LEFT, ON A SMOOTH DRY SURFACE AT VIRTUALLY ANY SPEED. IT IS EVEN WORSE AT HIGHER SPEEDS. IT CANNOT STEER STRAIGHT LIKE ANY NORMAL VEHICLE. THIS IS A SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT JEEP SHOULD BE INSTITUTING A RECALL AND REPAIR ORDER FOR! I'VE INSTRUCTED MY FAMILY MEMBERS TO CONTACT OUR ATTORNEY IF ANYONE IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT RECEIVES INJURY, SERIOUS BODILY INJURY OR DEATH. MY FAMILY MEMBERS WILL INFORM OUR ATTORNEY THAT THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM EXISTED SINCE THE DAY IT WAS PURCHASED AND THAT THE MANUFACTURER (JEEP) KNEW ABOUT THIS FROM NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM CUSTOMERS, AND YET SO FAR HAS FAILED TO INSTITUTE A RECALL FOR REPAIR. CHECK ONLINE AND YOU WILL FIND MANY OWNERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THEIR NEW WRANGLER'S STEERING PROBLEM. ONLINE AFTERMARKET COMPANIES ARE ATTEMPTING TO SELL PRODUCTS THAT "MAY" RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. WHY SHOULD ANY NEW OWNER HAVE TO SPEND MONEY ON AN AFTER MARKET PRODUCT FOR A BRAND NEW CAR? IF JEEP DOES NOT INITIATE A RECALL, I WILL WRITE COMPLAINTS AND NEGATIVE REVIEWS EVERYWHERE I CAN AND THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I PURCHASE ONE. I WILL RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE NOT TO PURCHASE A JEEP PRODUCT BECAUSE OF THIS GROSS NEGLIGENCE. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

CAN'T MAINTAIN A STRAIGHT LINE IN THE LANE, ONLY ABLE TO RECOVER AS THE VEHICLE DRIFTS FROM CENTER. THE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPT SAYS IT'S NOT FIXABLE; CHRYSLER'S CUSTOMER CONCERN DEPT SAYS IT'S A "FACTORY BUILT WHEEL ASSEMBLY AND CAN'T BE ADJUSTED." AS I'VE DRIVEN ALL MODELS OF JEEPS FOR SOME 30 YEARS, I'M QUITE DISAPPOINTED INASMUCH AS IT'S A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE NOT BEING ABLE TO FULLY CONTROL THE FRONT END AT SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY.

I HAVE HAD MY JEEP FOR 9 MONTHS NOW. STEERING IS HORRIBLE AND AT HIGH SPEEDS DANGEROUS! IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP IN A STRAIGHT LINE. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THIS IS A "JEEP" THING AND THAT I WOULD GET USED TO IT, BUT I FOUND OUT TODAY THAT OLDER JEEPS DO NOT HAVE AN ISSUE AS BAD AS THE 2019/2020 MODELS AND THAT I NEED TO GET IT LOOKED AT. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT AS I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING ABOVE 55 MPH IN MY JEEP.

WITH LESS THAN 400 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, A TAPPING SOUND COULD BE HEARD FROM THE ENGINE BAY. WHEN IT WAS BROUGHT INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN STATED THERE WAS A CAMSHAFT ISSUE FOR A TAPPET THAT HAD FAILED AND WAS DELIVERED FROM THE FACTORY WITH THE DEFECT. THIS HAS RESULTED IN A REPLACEMENT OF THE ROCKERS, TAPPETS, AND INTAKE AND EXHAUST CAMSHAFTS.

FOR THE THIRD TIME IN SIX MONTHS, OUR 2020 WRANGLE UNLIMITED HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER TO ATTEMPT TO FIX A SIGNIFICANT CHIRPING SOUND COMING FROM THE SERPENTINE AREA. THEY HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE TENSIONER PULLEY TWICE AND IT'S ACTUALLY WORSE. SO FAR, FOR THE SIX MONTHS WE'VE HAD IT, WE'LL BE GOING ON 3 WEEKS IN THE SHOP. INITIALLY IT WOULD ONLY BE ON A COLD START BUT NOW IT'S LOUDER AND WE CAN'T TAKE IT ANYWHERE. THE DEALER HAS HAD ALL THE TECH LOOK INTO IT AND THEY STILL BELIEVE IT'S RELATED TO THE TENSIONER. IT'S NOT RELATED TO THE RECENT TENSIONER RECALL EITHER. THIS IS A LEMON AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *TR

2020 JL WRANGLER UNLIMITED. STOCK WRANGLER WITHOUT MODIFICATIONS WITH LESS THAN 1K MILES, IN SHOP 3 TIMES FOR SAME ISSUE. THE JEEP HAS EXCESSIVE STEERING OVER 3 INCHES OF PLAY IN STEERING WHEEL BEFORE TIRES MOVE. THE STEERING ALSO WANDERS ALL OVER THE LANE AND EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO KEEP IN LANE WITH HANDS AT 10 AND 2 ON STEERING WHEEL. MY JEEP ALSO HAS A STEERING BOX THAT SEPARATES FROM FRAME WHEN TURNING WHEEL. THERE IS AN AFTERMARKET COMPANY WHO CLAIMS TO HAVE FIXED THE BOX SEPARATION ISSUE. THEY HAVE SOLD THOUSANDS OF UNITS AND HAVE THOUSANDS ON BACKORDER. YOU HAVE TO ASK WHY IS THIS SUCH A NICHE FIX FOR GLARING FACTORY ISSUE. MY STEERING BOX WAS REPLACED AND FOX 2.0 STEERING STABILIZER WAS TRIED AND FAILED TO FIX. THE DEALERS ARE HELPLESS NOT HOPELESS. THE DEALERS KNOW ITS AN ISSUE AND WANT TO FIX AND JEEP IS AWARE OF ISSUE BASED ON NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE AS WELL AS INTERNET FORUMS. I THINK THE ISSUE IS JEEP KNOWS IT'S A REAL PROBLEM AND CLUELESS ON HOW TO ADDRESS WITHOUT MASSIVE RECALL. HELLO CLASS ACTION ATTORNEYS. WE NEED YOU!! THE NHTSA HAS LIMITED MUSCLE TO HANDLE ISSUES WITH FCA. THIS NEEDS LITIGATION BEFORE SOMEONE DIES. *TR

I BOUGHT THE 2020 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON ECODIESEL A MONTH AGO AND FROM DAY 1 THE MINUTE I WENT ON THE FREEWAY AND DROVE ABOVE 55MPH THE CAR STARTED TO WANDER FROM SIDE TO SIDE, I CALL THIS "STEERING WHEEL WONDERING" IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO KEEP THE CAR STRAIGHT AND REQUIRES CONSTANT FEEDBACK TO THE WHEEL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND INITIATED A CASE WITH FCA, THE DEALER DROVE TEST AND TOLD ME THAT THIS IS HOW JEEP DRIVES AND YES I NEED TO CONSTANTLY PROVIDE FEEDBACK TO THE WHEEL. FROM FCA I AM WAITING FOR A RESOLUTION. FOR $70,000 I EXPECTED A CAR THAT WILL DRIVE NORMALLY, THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I AM AFRAID TO PUT MY FAMILY IN THE CAR. *TR

VEHICLE WANDERS WHEN DRIVING DOWN PAVED ROADS. STEERING WHEEL HAS TO BE MOVED AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT TO KEEP VEHICLE WITHIN THE LANE. THIS COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO WANDER INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE'S LANE AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS WHEN TRYING TO STAY IN LANE. EXHAUSTIVE TO THE DRIVER DURING LONG TRIPS. *TR

I JUST BOUGHT THE JEEP AND GOING HOME ON HIGHWAY AT SPEED OF 50-60. JEEP WAS GOING LEFT AND RIGHT (WOBBLING) AND STEERING WAS LITTLE SHAKY. I THOUGHT IT MAY BE WIND AND HOLD ON TO STEERING CAREFUL. MY WIFE WAS FOLLOWING ME IN DIFFERENT CAR AND SHE NOTICED THAT TOO. WHY I AM GOING LEFT AND RIGHT BUT STILL STAYED IN LANE. AFTER COMING HOME I DID GOOGLE SEARCH I SEE MANY REFERENCE OF "DEATH WOBBLE". I SEE JEEP KNOWS THIS ISSUE AND IT IS REALLY SAD TO SEE THIS ISSUE IN 2020. I MAY RETURN THIS VEHICLE. I AM STILL UNDER 250 MILES / 5 DAY RETURN PERIOD. I WILL TALK TO DEALER IN THE MORNING. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND DO THE RIGHT THING. I CAN'T IMAGINE MY DAUGHTER BEHIND THE SHAKING STEERING. IT IS SO DANGEROUS. PLEASE FIX IT.

VERY DANGEROUS WHEN ON TWO LANE OR UNEVEN ROAD AGAINST ONCOMING TRAFFIC. TOOK BACK TO DEALER TWICE REPLACED GEAR BOX DID NOT HELP. I PURCHASED MY NEW JEEP WRANGLER 2020 UNLIMITED JUST OVER A MONTH AGO. I HAVE NOTICED THAT, WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS ABOVE 40MPH, THE CAR IS VERY DIFFICULT TO HANDLE AND THE CAR, AS WELL AS THE STEERING WHEEL, WANDER ALL OVER THE PLACE. WHEN DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, I FEAR FOR MY LIFE AS THE CAR WANDERS AROUND THE LANE AND MUCH WORSE IF THERE IS A SLIGHT WIND CURRENT THAT HITS. IT IS VERY UNSTABLE AND VERY UNSAFE. I HAVE TAKEN THIS TO MY JEEP DEALER AND THEY INSIST THAT IT IS NORMAL COMPARED TO OTHER WRANGLERS THEY HAVE TESTED ON THEIR LOT. THIS IS A VERY IGNORANT RESPONSE AS IT DOES NOT SOLVE MY SPECIFIC PROBLEM. I FEAR THAT THIS WILL CAUSE A HUGE ACCIDENT ONE DAY ON THE ROADS AND BELIEVE THERE IS A FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT THE DEALER DOES NOT WISH TO FIX OR REPAIR THE ISSUE. I APPRECIATE ANY HELP WITH THIS. *TR
